Roxy felt her powers drain. King Trog's ring began to glow.
"Soon I'll have your powers, little girl," he said. "And you'll be gone!"
Professor Beard bit his lip. "I just wanted some treasure. I don't want anyone to get hurt."
Roxy fell to the ground. The crowd gasped.
Professor Beard sighed. "I can't let this happen." He ran over. "Rocket Girl! Get Trog's ring! Then he'll go back to sleep!"
Roxy blinked slowly. She had just a tiny amount of power left. She focused . . . Whiz-hoo! Her eye laser beams hit the glowing ring.
"Grarg!" King Trog's ring stopped glowing. It now had a small crack.
Roxy's powers returned. She pulled the band off her head. King Trog growled.
Roxy shot toward the caveman. His big fist pounded into Roxy.
"Gah!" Roxy slammed into the street.
She jumped back to her feet. Again she flew toward King Trog. He punched, but Roxy moved out of the way. Then . . . Pow! Roxy flew into King Trog's gut.
"Oof!" King Trog fell to his knees.
Roxy grabbed his big finger. She pulled the ring off. The caveman's eyes closed, and he lay still.
"Whew!" Roxy said.
Professor Beard ran over. "I'm sorry, Rocket Girl. I took King Trog's ring from the museum. I wanted to wake him."
Roxy raised an eyebrow. "Why did you want to wake him?"
Professor Beard sighed. "A legend says that King Trog rewards anyone who wakes him. I didn't know he was dangerous."
Roxy folded her arms. "It's okay, Professor. But I need your help now."
"Of course," Professor Beard said. "What do you need?"
Roxy shrugged. "I don't know where to put King Trog."
Roxy and Professor Beard stood in King Trog's cave. The caveman lay on his stone.
Roxy gave Professor Beard the ring.
"I'll put this back in the museum," he said.
Roxy nodded. Then she looked at the sleeping caveman. "Sleep tight, Trog."
Roxy returned to the museum.
"Roxy!" Mara said. "You missed it!"
"Did you hear about King Trog?" Roxy asked.
Everyone looked confused.
"He's an ancient caveman king," Roxy said. "He woke up and tried to rule Metro City. Rocket Girl stopped him."
"Awesome!" Terrell said.
"I was talking about Jack," Mara said. "He balanced the pencil on his nose for ten seconds!"
Jack grinned. "I did!"
Roxy and Terrell looked at each other and smiled.
