The next day Robot heard the dog barking downstairs.
Yip! Yip! Yip!
"Ugh," Robot thought.
"Julia's dog never stops barking."
Then Robot heard a different sound. Grr-owl.
It seemed to come from the hallway.
"What is that noise?" Robot thought.
It grew louder.
"I'll be brave and check it out," Robot thought.
Slowly he went into the hallway.
There was Noly and . . .
Julia's dog was chasing her!
The little dog had a sparkly collar.
It barked and snarled.
Growl! The dog tried to bite Noly's tail.
It pawed at her face.
"Ahh!" Noly shouted. "Help! Help!"
The dog backed her against the wall.
It barked furiously. Yip! Yip! Yip!
"Time for some superhero action!" Robot thought.
He went closer.
He tried not to be afraid.
Robot clicked his claw and flashed his lights.
He beeped as loudly as he could. Beep! Beep!
The dog spun around.
Robot did it again. Beep! Beep!
The dog didn't like Robot's loud noises.
The dog growled softly. Growl!
Robot went closer.
He kept flashing and beeping.
The dog's growls got louder.
Robot swung his arm and—bop!
He bopped the dog's nose with his claw.
Owwl! The dog howled and ran away.
Robot let out a breath. "Whew!"
"You saved me!" Noly said.
"Thanks, Robot. You're a hero!"
Robot nodded proudly.
"I did it," Robot thought.
"I was brave and saved the day."
Maybe he could become like MechaTron on his own.
Maybe he didn't need that fairy's help!
