Roxy flew to Mountain View Hotel. In the parking lot, guests were gathered together. They all looked angry.
Roxy entered the lobby. "Yikes!" she thought. "There's dust everywhere."
Detective Smith was standing with another man.
"Detective Smith, don't dust stand there," Roxy said. "Grab a dust pan!"
"Ha-ha, Rocket Girl," Detective Smith said. "Very—ah-choo!"
"Thank goodness you're here, Rocket Girl!" Mr. Denton said. "I'm the owner of the hotel. Can you do something about this dust?"
"Maybe," Roxy said. "Where did it come from?"
"I don't know," Mr. Denton said. "But I must get rid of it—it's ruining my business."
"Did you call a cleaning service?" Detective Smith asked.
Mr. Denton nodded. "I left a message with my new cleaner, Tanya Tidy. I hope she calls me back soon."
"Some guests are missing valuables, Rocket Girl," Detective Smith said. "But we can't look for clues until the dust is gone."
"Let's open all the windows," Roxy said. "Then you two, go outside."
Soon Roxy was alone inside. Whoosh! She used her super breath to blow away the dust.
Detective Smith and Mr. Denton returned to the lobby.
"Nice job, Rocket Girl," Detective Smith said. "But while you were cleaning, I got a call. Victoria Cash's mansion just filled up with dust!"
"I bet it's another burglary!" Roxy said.
When Roxy arrived, Victoria Cash and her daughter, Ruby, were standing outside. They were covering their faces with cloth and coughing.
"I heard about the dust in your mansion," Roxy said. "Is anything missing?"
"Yes!" Victoria said. "Ruby's rubies!"
Ruby held up a fancy doll. "Somebody stole Lillian's ruby tiara!"
Victoria bit her lip. "I don't know what else is missing. There was too much dust to see anything!"
"I'll check it out," Roxy said. "Wait here."
The mansion was filled with dust. As Roxy walked around, she thought she heard something. She used her super hearing.
Humm. Humm.
"It sounds like a . . ." Roxy followed the sound to a back room. "A robot vacuum!"
The machine was circling the floor, spraying out thick dust. Roxy coughed. Then, wiping dust off a window, she spotted a van parked outside.
"Tanya Tidy's Cleaning Service," Roxy thought. "Mr. Denton uses that service too!"
Cleaners in black masks were standing around a tall woman. She was wearing a maid's uniform. Bags stuffed with stolen goods lay on the ground. So did several cleaning tools.
A cleaner suddenly glanced toward the window. "Uh-oh, boss. Rocket Girl!"
