Wukong's cube floated through the stadium as the Battle Master spoke.
"The next fighter doesn't look tough. But he likes to brag that he once defeated Heaven's entire army. I'm pleased to present . . . Sun Wukong!"
The audience cheered. Then the cubes vanished. Wukong faced his opponent, Glytar.
A blue alien in the audience pointed. "It's a cute little monkey!"
The audience erupted into laughter.
Wukong glared at the crowd. Then he turned to Glytar, who was leaning on his ax and laughing. "What's so funny?"
Glytar shrugged. "You're tiny."
"That's true. I am small," Wukong said. "Maybe you should fight someone your own size."
"Maybe." Glytar picked up his ax. "But you're the only one here right now."
Wukong smiled. "I still think you should fight someone your own size. So . . ." He quickly grew big.
"Whoa!" Glytar stepped back.
Wukong swung his iron bar. Glytar jumped to avoid it. Wukong swung again. His bar came down fast, but Glytar rolled out of the way. Wham! The bar slammed into the ground.
Slice! Wukong felt Glytar's ax brush over his head. Several of his hairs fell to the ground.
"Hey!" Wukong yelled. "I didn't ask for a haircut!"
Glytar twirled his ax. "Ha-ha!"
Wukong picked up the hairs and recited a spell.
Glytar lowered his ax. "What are you doing?"
"A trick I learned a long time ago." Suddenly three small Wukongs charged toward Glytar.
"Ahh!" The alien swung his ax wildly.
The Wukongs punched and kicked. Glytar's ax hit one of them. Poof! That Wukong disappeared, but another Wukong yanked the ax from Glytar's hands.
"Yikes!" Glytar ducked as the Wukong swung. Then he grabbed the ax and shook off the little Wukong. He brought the ax down hard. Poof! The little Wukong vanished.
Glytar stomped toward the third Wukong.
Pow! Wukong swung his iron bar. Glytar flew into the crowd, crashing into the blue alien. The alien's drink spilled everywhere. "Oh man!"
Wukong laughed.
Glytar climbed to his feet. "I surrender!"
"Sun Wukong wins!" the Battle Master said.
The crowd cheered as Wukong took a bow. His cube reappeared and brought him back to the other cubes.
"That was fun," Wukong thought. "But I really do need to get out of here. The Tang Monk needs—"
"Wukong!" someone shouted.
Wukong looked down. Rocket Girl and Kid Comet were in cubes below him. He gasped. "What are you two doing here?"
Cozlin shrugged. "The same thing you're doing. The Battle Master captured us to make us fight."
"We need to escape!" Roxy said.
The Battle Master's voice boomed again. "Our next fighter comes from the planet Zentaria. Give a warm welcome to Nebulon!"
A cube carried a warrior who was doing stretches. A sword and shield lay on the floor.
Wukong laughed. "That guy's a joke! You two don't need to worry. I'll defeat everyone here, and then the three of us will leave."
"We have bigger opponents to worry about," Roxy said.
"Like who?" Wukong asked.
Roxy pointed. "That!"
Another cube floated out. It was much bigger than the others. A blast of flames filled it with smoke. When the smoke cleared, Wukong saw a large dragon inside!
