Roxy arrived downtown. Everywhere she looked, she saw people trapped in nets. Crime Fighter Bot was moving along the sidewalk, shooting out more nets.
Whiz-hoo! Roxy used her eye laser beams to slice through the nets.
"Rocket Girl!" Dr. Odd was still trapped. "Over here!"
Roxy flew over and freed Dr. Odd and Bippo.
"What happened?" Roxy asked.
"I was about to turn off Crime Fighter Bot for good," Dr. Odd said. "But it ignored my commands!"
Roxy frowned. "It's time to take down that robot!"
"We need to pull out its energy core. It's under its chest plate," Dr. Odd said.
"Let's go!" Roxy said.
Down the block, people were running from Crime Fighter Bot.
"The law is the law," the robot said. "You are breaking the law!"
Zip! It shot a net at a hot dog stand.
"My hot dogs!" the hot dog man cried. "They never hurt anyone!"
The robot spun around and saw Roxy, Dr. Odd, and Bippo. Zip! It shot a net at them.
Roxy quickly melted it with her heat vision. The robot tried to shoot another net. But it was out of them.
Then Roxy noticed something on the sidewalk. It was a mailbox.
"Hmm. I have an idea!" Roxy planted herself in front of the mailbox.
"Hey, metal head!" she yelled at the robot. "Arrest me—if you can!"
The robot made an angry sound and charged at Roxy. She jumped out of the way. Bam! The robot slammed hard into the mailbox. Mail went flying everywhere.
"Uh-oh!" Roxy said loudly. "Messing with the mail is a crime. You broke the law! And the law is the law!"
"No!" Sparks flew from the robot's head. "Crime Fighter Bot follows the law!"
The robot reached out, grabbing Roxy.
"Ahh! Let go of me!" Roxy cried.
Bippo jumped onto the robot's shoulder. It ran in circles around the robot's head. The robot's head spun wildly.
"Grr!" Roxy broke free and punched the robot in the chest. Its chest plate fell off. Then Roxy yanked out its power core. The robot's eye went black.
"Hero, you!" Bippo said.
Roxy grinned. "Heroes, us!"
Back at school, lunch recess was almost over.
"Hey, Roxy!" Mara said. "Did you hear?"
Jack hung upside down from the jungle gym. "Crime Fighter Bot went crazy!"
Terrell winked at Roxy. "It's a good thing Metro City still has Rocket Girl!"
Roxy grinned. "I totally agree!"
