Rocket Girl's Galaxy Squad Adventure 11: Friend, You
"Destroying Meltron sounds hard!" Roxy said. "Where is he?"
"Here," Dr. Odd said. "He's deep below the surface, at Groon's core." He typed on a computer. A hologram of Groon appeared. It showed what Groon was like now, covered in machinery and metal.
Just then Roxy heard a cup shatter on the floor. Dr. Odd's tea spilled everywhere.
"Oops, me," a tiny robot said. It was round with big eyes.
Dr. Odd groaned. "Be careful, Bippo!"
The robot looked down. "Sorry, me."
     "Aw!" Roxy said. "He's cute!"
Bippo hurried over to Roxy. "Friend, you!" He jumped onto Roxy's shoulder.
"Anyway," Dr. Odd said, "I have been doing deep scans of Groon since I arrived."
Bippo pointed at Dr. Odd. "Busy, him!"
     Roxy giggled.
Dr. Odd rolled his eyes. "Groon is covered in multiple layers of metal and machinery. These layers have a network of tunnels and rooms that Meltron's robots use to move around."
Dr. Odd waved his hand to make the hologram zoom in.
"My scanners can't reach the center of the planet," Dr. Odd said. "But I'm sure Meltron is down there. Strong signals are coming from Groon's core. The signals seem to control all the other robots. It must be him."
He waved his hand again, and the hologram zoomed out. Roxy and Cozlin saw a glowing layer just below the surface.
"That's the energy shield!" Cozlin said.
"You know about that?" Dr. Odd asked.
Roxy nodded. "It took away our super powers."
"That energy shield disrupts any technology that's not from Meltron," Dr. Odd said. "It's part of Meltron's defense system. Because of it, I can't pilot my big robot inside the planet." He sighed. "I didn't realize the energy shield worked on super powers too. We'll need to disable it."
He zoomed in on a computer.
"That's the computer that controls the energy shield," Dr. Odd said. "If I can get to it, I can turn off the energy shield. Then you two won't lose your powers again."
"That sounds like a good plan," Cozlin said, "but Meltron has a lot of robots. I hate to admit it, but we can't fight them all and fight Meltron too!"
Roxy bit her lip. "Kid Comet is right. The robots are kind of easy to fight, but—"
     "Strong, you," Bippo said.
"Thanks, Bippo," Roxy said. "But there are way too many of them. It could be hard to get past them to reach Meltron."
Dr. Odd tapped his chin. "Then we'll have to disable Meltron's controller as well."
"We don't know where that is, do we?" Roxy asked.
Dr. Odd rolled his eyes. "Did you forget, Rocket Girl? I'm Earth's leading expert on robot technology. I know where the controller is."
     "Smart, him," Bippo said.
     "Where is it?" Cozlin asked.
Dr. Odd gave a nervous laugh. "Inside Meltron."
"Are you kidding?" Cozlin said. "How will we get inside Meltron?"
Dr. Odd shrugged. "I don't know."
"Oh!" Roxy said. "I know someone who can make himself tiny!" Then she sighed. "Never mind."
     Cozlin scratched her head. "Why?"
"We have no way to find him," Roxy said. "He's in another world!"
