Roxy groaned. "We destroyed so many robots. And now they've all been fixed! It's like we didn't do anything at all!"
Roxy felt bad. She wanted to help the Delkorians, but this mission was taking a really long time.
Cozlin held up her hand. Zap!
One robot exploded, and three others fell over, lifeless. Roxy flew over and grabbed one of the lifeless robots. She and Cozlin took it into their spaceship.
"Let's get this robot to the bunker," Cozlin said. "An expert can study its technology and figure out where it came from."
They flew back to the bunker. But now the grassy hill was covered in large pieces of metal. Robots were welding the pieces of metal together.
"What are they doing?" Roxy asked.
"I don't know," Cozlin said. "But we can't get into the bunker now." She turned on her communication device. "This is Kid Comet. Is everyone okay inside the bunker?"
"Yes," a voice said. "What's going on out there?"
"Robots covered the entrance," Cozlin said. "We can't get in."
"Maybe we can get help in a different city," Roxy said.
"Every city on Delkor has been overrun by robots," the voice said. "No place is safe!"
Cozlin gulped. "Don't worry! We'll stop them."
"She's scared," Roxy thought.
Just then a robot jumped onto the outside of their ship. It punched into a wing and tried to pull it apart.
"Oh no!" Cozlin shouted.
Roxy flew outside. She knocked the robot off the wing. Using her heat vision, she quickly welded the wing back together. Then more robots tried to attack the ship.
Roxy went back inside, and Cozlin flew up into orbit.
"It's not safe down there," Roxy said. "How will we figure out where the robots came from?"
Cozlin was pressing buttons on the dashboard. "My aunt Fezlin is a technology researcher. She lives on Asteroid Number 4. It's a huge asteroid that orbits Delkor's star. We can see if she knows anything about the robots."
The power crystal glowed, and the spaceship shot through space. Minutes later Cozlin's spaceship was docking on Asteroid Number 4.
"I'm even farther from Earth now," Roxy thought.
Aunt Fezlin hugged Cozlin. "I've been hearing reports about what's happening on Delkor. I'm glad you're safe, Cozlin."
Cozlin looked at Roxy and shrugged. "That's my real name."
Roxy smiled. "Mine is Roxy."
"It's nice to meet you, Roxy," Aunt Fezlin said. "Cozlin acts like she never needs help, but everyone needs a teammate sometimes."
Cozlin shrugged. "Roxy isn't a teammate. She's just helping me."
"That's right," Roxy said, pretending to agree. "Cozlin doesn't even need my help. In fact, maybe I should just go home to my own—"
"Sorry!" Cozlin said quickly. "Please don't go—I do need your help."
Roxy smiled. "I'll stay."
Aunt Fezlin examined the robot, taking it apart. She looked closely at how it had been built.
"This technology is from the Varda Region," she said finally.
"Then that's where we need to go," Cozlin said.
Roxy had a sinking feeling. "How far away is that?"
Cozlin shrugged. "About a million light-years."
Roxy sighed. "This mission is taking me farther and farther from home!"
