Roxy looked at the city streets below. She saw lines of robots moving about like ants in a colony.
Cozlin bit her lip. Roxy could tell she was scared.
"This is fine!" Cozlin said suddenly. "We can definitely handle it." She flew the spaceship close to a large building covered in robots, and gulped.
"What is that place?" Roxy asked.
"King Radnik's palace." Cozlin picked up a communication device. "This is Kid Comet! I'm trying to reach King Radnik."
There was no answer.
"Uh-oh," Roxy thought.
Finally a voice came through the communication device. "King Radnik is in an underground bunker. I'll send you the location."
Cozlin let out a huge sigh of relief.
Soon the spaceship arrived at two large metal doors in the side of a grassy hill. The doors opened, and the spaceship flew in.
"I'm glad you're back, Kid Comet!" King Radnik said. He looked at Roxy. "Thank you for coming. Those robots are causing a lot of trouble."
"I'm happy to help, King, um, Your Majesty," Roxy said.
They went into a meeting room where a screen displayed a map of the capital. Government officials hurried back and forth.
"We're planning an evacuation," King Radnik said. "I want every Delkorian off the planet as fast as possible. And I want to know where those robots came from. Who sent them? Why are they here?"
Cozlin nodded. "I'll figure it out!"
"We both will," Roxy said.
Cozlin glanced at her. "Right! We both will."
Cozlin landed her spaceship just outside the city. Roxy watched the robots move around the streets. Every robot had the letter M stamped on it.
"I wonder what that M stands for," Roxy said.
"Who cares," Cozlin said. Zap! She blasted a robot.
Whiz-hoo! Roxy's eye laser beams blew apart another robot.
One robot pointed at Roxy and Cozlin. "Destroy them!"
Robots stomped toward the two superheroes.
"Uh-oh!" Roxy flew fast. She darted away from one robot and smashed another.
Cozlin zipped back and forth, blasting robots that tried to grab her.
As Roxy flew, she saw a robot chomping on a vehicle. The robot hummed and then another robot popped out of its back.
Whiz-hoo! She blasted the first robot, and it blew up. Then Roxy gasped. The second robot fell over, lifeless.
Cozlin saw it too. "Rocket Girl!" she said. "We need to destroy the first robot that came here! Then maybe all the others will stop working!"
The two of them blasted one robot after another. But it didn't seem to help. Robots were still everywhere!
Roxy and Cozlin were exhausted. They flew out of the city and flopped on the ground.
"This is awful!" Cozlin said. "What am I going to do?"
"You mean, what are we going to do," Roxy said. "Don't forget—you dragged me into this. You said it would just take an hour or two!"
Cozlin sat up suddenly. "Did you hear that?"
Roxy scratched her head. "Huh?"
"Someone's here," Cozlin said.
Roxy saw an alien peeking over a nearby boulder. He gasped, ran to a scooter, and zoomed away.
