Animals 1, The Book of Tails
Dan and Jan were at the natural history museum. They walked into a dark room.
"I wonder what's in here," said Jan.
     A screen flashed on.
"I am the Book of Tails, or BOT," said a voice.
     "Whoa," said Dan and Jan.
"Choose an animal to learn about its tail," said BOT.
     Dan touched the Dolphin button.
"Dolphin," said BOT. "A dolphin moves its tail up and down. This helps it move forward in the water. A whale does the same."
     "Like a fish," said Dan.
"Not exactly," said BOT. "A fish moves its tail from side to side."
"This is fun!" said Jan. "Let me try!"
"Zebra. A zebra flicks away flies with its tail. A cow and a horse do this too."
"Alligator. An alligator attacks enemies with its tail. Its tail is thick and strong."
"Kangaroo. A kangaroo has a long and strong tail. It uses its tail to sit up. It also uses its tail to walk."
"I never knew that," said Dan. "It's my turn again."
"Chameleon. A chameleon is special because it changes colors. A chameleon's tail is special too. It helps a chameleon balance on branches."
"Dog. A dog wags its tail to say hello. This shows that it is excited."
"Dan! Jan!" called a voice from outside the room.
     "That's Mom," said Jan.
"We have to go," said Dan. He touched the Exit button.
"Thank you for visiting," said BOT. "Come back again to learn more."
"We will," said Dan and Jan. "Bye!"
