Danny's Adventures, Danny and the Colorless Giants 4: A Giant Surprise
Danny: Who are you?
Hopian: It’s all right. There’s nothing to be afraid of.
Danny: What are you doing here?
Hopian: My name is Hopian, Danny.
Danny: How do you know my name?
Hopian: I’ve been watching you.
Danny: Watching me? Why?
Hopian: Only you can help us, Danny. I come from Ginormous. It’s a land filled with giants like myself. The people of Ginormous were usually very happy. We all got along with each other. We knew how to play. Families used to gather for picnics in the colorful gardens. The giant children used to sing and paint pictures. My son used to make clay castles.
Danny: Sounds like fun! What happened?
Hopian: Our color is disappearing, Danny.
Danny: What do you mean?
Hopian: I noticed it about a month ago.I went outside one day to get ready for a party. Our friends and neighbors were going to join us. I looked around the garden, and then I noticed something. I walked up to a plant that was normally bright blue.  But now it was gray! I bent down to look at the grass. I noticed that it had faded too. I was surprised, and started to feel sad.
Danny: That’s terrible!
Hopian: As the weeks passed, I noticed more and more gray. My friends were no longer very happy. People seemed to change.Something evil is happening to my world. My people are very sad. They miss color. That’s why I came to you.
Danny: Why me?
Hopian: Everyone in Ginormous is forgetting all about color. But you still have a colorful imagination.
Danny: But what can I do? I’m just a little kid.
