A woman was driving to work. She stopped at a red traffic light. She frowned as she waited for the light to change.
"I'm going to be late for work," she thought.
The light finally turned green. The woman started to go. Then a cow walked in front of her car.
"Moo!"
"Yikes!" the woman said. "What's that cow doing here?"
The woman honked her horn, but the cow didn't move. She opened the car door and—"Ouch!"
A chicken pecked at the woman's leg. The woman looked around and saw more farm animals in the road.
People beeped their horns and got out of their cars.
"Shoo!" A man tried to make some cows move. The cows just stared at him.
The woman sighed and looked at her watch.
"I'm going to be really late now," she thought. "Maybe I can take a different road to work."
She got back into her car and drove away. She started to make a right turn onto another street. Suddenly stalks of corn sprang up in front of her car.
"Huh?" she cried.
The woman braked hard. Screech!
Roxy and her friends were at the park. They were warming up before their softball game.
Mara threw the ball to Terrell. "Nice catch, Terrell!"
Terrell threw the ball to Roxy. "I hope I get a hit today."
"I want to get a hit too," Jack said.
Terrell glanced at Roxy. "Rocket Girl would get a home run every time."
Roxy chuckled. "It wouldn't be fair if Rocket Girl played with us."
Mara nodded. "Nobody could hit the ball farther than her!"
Just then a whistle blew.
"The game's about to start," Jack said.
As the kids went toward the dugout, Roxy's watch beeped.
"Um, I forgot my water bottle," she said. "I'll, er, be back soon."
She hurried away and ducked behind some bushes.
"What's wrong, Mayor Bloom?" Roxy said.
"I'm getting some unusual reports, Rocket Girl," Mayor Bloom said. "And the situation is growing very serious."
"Oh no! Is someone robbing True Savings Bank? Or is a giant blob eating up downtown?" Roxy asked.
"No, nothing like that," Mayor Bloom said. "It's farm animals."
"Farm animals?" Roxy said.
"Yes. They're blocking traffic on West Street," Mayor Bloom said. "Nobody knows where they came from. But we need to clear the streets fast."
"Don't worry, Mayor," Roxy said. "I'm on my way!"
