Rrrip! Roxy heard a loud sound.
She looked over and saw the police car. "It skidded off the road!" she thought.
She ran to the car. "Detective Smith! Are you okay?"
Detective Smith and the other police officer climbed out. One of the car's back doors lay on the grass.
"We're fine," Detective Smith said. "But Switch Witch broke out of her handcuffs. Then she ripped off the car door. I didn't know she was so strong."
"I think she switched her powers with mine," Roxy said.
"Uh-oh." Detective Smith took a piece of candy from his pocket. "Let's see if it's true. Can you switch this candy with another object?"
Roxy looked around and saw a rock. Then she stared back at the candy. It shimmered and turned into a rock.
"Now switch them back," Detective Smith said.
Roxy tried, but nothing happened.
"It looks like the switch works only one time," Detective Smith said.
"Grr!" Roxy said. "I'm stuck with that witch's rotten switch power! She won't get away with this! I'll find her and get my powers back."
"Good luck." Detective Smith pulled more candy from his pocket. "Do you want some chocolate first?"
"Listen up, everyone!" Switch Witch tossed a sack onto the ground. "Put your wallets and purses in this sack!"
"We're not afraid of you!" a man said.
"Oh, no?" Switch Witch said.
Whiz-hoo! She used Roxy's eye laser beams. The laser beams hit a tree, which burst into flames.
Switch Witch cackled. "Now are you afraid of me?"
Everyone began putting things in the sack.
Roxy ran up, panting. "Leave these people alone!"
"No way!" Switch Witch said. "I finally have real powers. Now everyone has to do what I say!"
"We'll see about that!" Roxy closed her eyes and thought hard about her super powers.
Switch Witch started to shimmer. Then—whoosh! The witch shot away from Roxy, flying high above.
"Ugh!" Roxy thought. "The shimmering stopped! Her dumb switch power only works on things that are nearby!"
"Hey, Switch Witch!" Roxy yelled. "If you're so powerful, come down and face me!"
"Nice try, Rocket Girl!" Switch Witch cackled. "You'll try to switch our powers if I come closer. I can't let you do that!"
Switch Witch took a deep breath in.
"Yikes!" Roxy gulped as the witch blew out a powerful gust of air. "She's using my freeze breath power—to freeze me!"
