Roxy groaned. "We're stuck on this robot planet!"
Cozlin looked around. Broken spaceships lay everywhere. But none looked like it would still fly. She looked at Dr. Odd's moon. "Do you think Dr. Odd has something we can use?"
Roxy was confused. "He won't let us borrow a spaceship, if that's what you're thinking."
"No," Cozlin said. "But it sounds like we need to arrest him anyway. Maybe he has a spaceship in that moon."
Roxy sighed. Cozlin had a point. Dr. Odd was probably their best chance of getting off this planet.
They flew to the moon and opened a hatch. Quietly they walked down a hallway. They arrived at a big door, and Cozlin's device beeped quickly.
"I'm detecting life," Cozlin said. "Dr. Odd is behind this door."
Roxy fired her eye laser beams. Whiz-hoo! The door exploded, and the two superheroes burst into the room.
Dr. Odd was drinking a cup of tea. He held up his hands. "Stop! Don't destroy anything!"
Roxy was surprised. She expected him to fight.
"Please," Dr. Odd said. "If we fight in here, my computer controls will all get destroyed. Then none of us will ever leave this planet."
Roxy gave him a suspicious look.
Dr. Odd held up his hands again. "I'm unarmed. My big robot is in its charging station. So please, just listen to me."
Roxy folded her arms. Cozlin did the same.
"Okay," Roxy said. "Talk."
Dr. Odd took a deep breath. "I told you I didn't harm this planet, and I was telling the truth." He held out his arms. "This is my moon. I spent years designing it, and my robots built it while I was in prison. All I wanted was to travel around the galaxy and explore—by myself. But then a magnetic force dragged me here, to Groon."
"What happened to Groon?" Cozlin asked. "Where are all of its forests?"
"Robots buried all the forests under layers of metal and machinery," Dr. Odd said.
Roxy narrowed her eyes. "How do you know that?"
Dr. Odd turned on a computer. "I found this computer deep in the planet while exploring one day. Watch this."
A video showed a small city surrounded by lush forests. Roxy saw that the aliens in the video looked happy.
"This is a Groonian city," Dr. Odd said.
Suddenly a dark shadow spread across everything. The Groonians gazed up toward the sky, looking scared. Then the video ended.
"That's the only video," Dr. Odd said. "But I learned more about Groon's history from computer files. That shadow you saw was an enormous robot named Meltron. He makes smaller robots, using scrap metal—spaceships, vehicles, even buildings. Those robots can make more robots, and Meltron controls all of them. He sends them out to take over other planets."
Cozlin looked sad. "Like mine."
"We have to stop the robots!" Roxy said. "Before they take over the whole galaxy."
"I know how to do it," Dr. Odd said. "But it won't be easy."
Roxy didn't know if she could trust the man. But she didn't really have a choice.
"How?" she asked.
He looked grim. "We have to destroy Meltron."
