Roxy ducked behind a fence. A moment later she was Rocket Girl!
"Okay," said Roxy. "It's time to save Metro City from those dinosaurs!" She blasted into the air.
"Look!" cried Mara. "It's Rocket Girl!"
Terrell stared suspiciously at the flying superhero.
When Roxy arrived in downtown Metro City, dinosaurs were everywhere.
"Oh no! Dinosaurs!" yelled an old man.
"Rocket Girl, do something!" cried a woman with a baby.
Boom! Boom! Two large dinosaurs with long necks stomped along West Street. A car tried to race away from them. It crashed into a store window. The driver got out and ran.
"Whoa!" said Roxy. "This is bad!"
She heard a familiar voice.
"Rocket Girl!" It was Detective Smith. He and two other police officers were hiding in an alley. Roxy ran to them.
"Ahh!" Roxy pretended to be scared. "It's another dinosaur—dressed as a detective!"
Detective Smith frowned. "This is no time for jokes, Rocket Girl."
"I know," said Roxy. "So where did the dinosaurs come from?"
"I have no idea," said the detective. "Early this morning electricity lit up the sky for a moment. After that the dinosaurs appeared."
Crash! Several small dinosaurs knocked over a hot dog cart.
"My hot dogs are ruined!" cried the hot dog man.
Grr! One dinosaur growled at the man.
"Aah!" The man screamed and ran away. The dinosaurs gobbled up all the hot dogs.
A flying dinosaur swooped down and ate an old woman's hat.
"Gah!" the woman cried. She waved her cane at the dinosaur.
Just then a large shadow fell over the woman. It was a T. rex! The woman stopped waving her cane.
"Rocket Girl! Help me!" she cried.
Zoom! Roxy shot toward the woman. The dinosaur opened its jaws . . . Swoosh! Roxy swept up the woman just in time.
Roar! The huge dinosaur stomped on a car.
"My new car!" cried a man in a suit. "That car cost a lot of money!"
The T. rex spun around. It sniffed the air. Then it ran toward a school bus.
"Uh-oh!" said Roxy. She flew as fast as she could. She picked up the bus and moved it far from the T. rex.
Roar! Finally, the T. rex turned and ran down the street.
"Whew!" said Roxy. "I'm glad that T. rex is running away." But then she gulped. "Oh no! The dinosaur is running down Mountain Street. That street leads to Metro City Elementary School!"
