Danny woke up. He looked at the clock, turned over, and went back to sleep. The alarm woke him up again, but still he didn't get out of bed.
Danny's mother saw her son still asleep in bed. She shook him by the shoulders. "Come on, Danny. It's time to get ready for school."
"I don't want to go! I can't stand the thought of school!"
Danny's mother frowned. "Now, Danny. I know, and you know, you must go to school. I'm tired of telling you to get up every day. So, get up!"
Finally, Danny got up very slowly. He got ready for school very slowly. Danny even ate his breakfast very slowly. He chewed each piece of food for almost a minute.
Danny's mother was getting very angry. She spoke again to her son, "Look at the time! You'll be late, Danny. Finish your breakfast. You must go to school!"
Danny looked at his mother and shook his head. "I don't want to go to school. I don't care if I am late. I never want to go to school again!"
Danny's mother folded her arms across her chest. She looked sternly at her son. "Danny, you know as well as I do: you must go to school."
Danny looked up at his mother angrily. "Give me two good reasons why I should go to school."
Danny's mother rolled her eyes and then looked at her son. "First, you are 45 years old. And second, you are the principal of the school."
Danny glared at his mother. He pushed his breakfast away. He picked up his briefcase. And he slammed the door as he left for school.
